House Rules
We know that you know this already – but using and posting material to this (or any) website is subject to some common sense guidelines. Read our terms of use before for the full story before you use the site. In creating the changelearning on-line community, we are trying to help foster the sharing of information, ideas and actions – and sharing with others works better when we all play by some basic rules.
Have respect for others.
We all have different perspectives and we all have a right to feel comfortable expressing ourselves. Be polite to other members even when they don’t see things the same way and don’t attack or bully others with your ideas and beliefs.
Share but don’t steal.
We encourage everyone to share what you’ve learned, what you’re thinking and what you’re doing so we can build our communal knowledge – just make sure you give credit where credit is due. Respect the copyright of others, give proper attribution to material and check to be sure your links don’t infringe on anyone’s intellectual property.
Think before you post.
You are responsible for what you post. This site is about transforming education and maximizing the development and learning experiences of our youth. Before you post that picture, create that content tag, upload your video or post a blog entry (to name a few) – make sure your content is appropriate and comfortable for every child, teacher, new mom and grandmother that might view it. Swearing, posting content that is in bad taste or illegal, ranting, insulting or degrading others is not OK. Your account will be terminated.
Don’t use the site for commercial gain.
This is a community project. If we find you trying to sell products or services we will terminate your account.
Don’t do things to deceive, annoy or harm others.
That means you can’t use multiple logins for the purpose of disrupting the community or annoying other users. Don’t impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliations with other people or organizations. No spamming or off-topic material. And please, don’t re-submit your comment to more than one blog entry.
Help us keep the site safe and positive.
If you see something that worries you (other than an opinion you don’t like), report it to us and we will look into the content and the account. This also holds true for items you think are not properly attributed or that may infringe copyright.
We know people can make errors in judgment and in most cases we will give a warning along with a second chance to anyone who overlooks one of these basics. If you really can’t play by the rules (i.e. you do it again), your account will be terminated. If these rules seem just too much to take – this site probably isn’t for you.
